Okay. I have something to say.
Lately there are news about people who bashed Singapore. Facebook groups or famous actors. They seem to have the same goal. And I feel weird because I don't know whether to agree or oppose the idea.
Firstly, they would say:"Singaporeans are rude", "Singaporeans are uncouth","Singaporeans are bla bla bla". AND EVERYONE IN THE DAMN GROUP WILL SAY THE SAME THING! Some would type out their "experiences" with Singaporeans and hope that someone would relate to that. After reading those short stories.... I noticed that it is all small minor bullshit. Like maybe some waiter was rude to you.... or some man did not help you carry YOUR stuff.... or some guy didn't let up his seat to other people. Really.... these are really small stuff and for them to make a huge fuss over these things? Are they showing to the rest of the world that they are super childish? To remember all the stupid things people do and forget the nice things? Are they trying to be the same as everyone else in the world?
Secondly, about singlish. Yes, it don't really sound nice... but hey. IT IS SINGAPORE. Does this piece of freaking land look like Australia or America to you? What do you expect us to say? G'Day mate? Please... if the rest of the world pronounces Internet as Innernet why can't we have our own way of speaking english? If you don't like Singlish... go to China or India or some country which don't speak much english=) You won't find us there=) I promise.
Thirdly, I saw this ridiculous comment on The New Paper. "Singaporeans cannot appreciate sarcasm, they treat things way too seriously". I don't know whether to explode or laugh.
WHY in the blue world must we APPRECIATE sarcasm? First of all.... sarcasm is rude with most of you pie-holes feel that we Singaporeans are good at. Secondly, it is a good thing we take things seriously. We make up for the rest of the bullcrap other places come up with.
Anyway. This is one person's opinion. Yes, I am leaned towards helping Singapore. Although I don't really like it here. I still am proud of what this country have achieved just over 40 years. Beat that.
; Think. Not talk.
